Having accumulated extensive knowledge and skill from 30 years on major building projects in the region, Clement is an expert in the delivery of institutional and use-specific projects of various scales. As a member of numerous government committees and advisor to various professional bodies, his opinion is regularly sought for the betterment of the construction industry. Clement was an Associate Professor (Part-time) of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Hong Kong. His major areas of interests include the integration of building systems in architecture and the psychology of buildings.
In addition to managing the practice, Clement remains actively involved in the design and administration of many of the office’s projects. He is currently working on the Jessville heritage project at Pokfulam, as well as two high-tech pharmaceutical plants in Yuen Long. Notable projects completed by Clement include the Bamboo Grove Hotel in Shouzhu, the first international 3-star hotel in the city; the Japanese International School in Tai Po; the former Kwong On Bank Headquarters in Central; and the APT Satellite and Telecommunications Park (Phases I – III) in Tai Po Industrial Estate.
Before joining the practice, Clement worked for Foster+Partners (Hong Kong) on the HSBC Headquarters Redevelopment from 1983 to 1985. He was responsible for the design and documentation of the mid-pane blinds and back-up wall system.
