With more than four decades of design experience, Barry is the chief designer responsible for giving shape to all major projects in the office. He has won multiple awards and, through his former role as Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Hong Kong, was the mentor to several generations of architects. He has lectured and taught at schools of architecture around the world and is an Honorary Professor at the University of Hong Kong. In addition to his commitment to education, Barry has also made significant contributions to the regional architecture community as past President of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects and past Chairman of the Architects Regional Council Asia.
Barry is currently working on the planning stages of several large-scale housing projects in the New Territories, while in recent years he has been focused on expanding the practice’s reach in the PRC, with several major planning and development projects including the masterplan and design development for the Greenshore eco-residences in Guangzhou, Le Parc in Chengdu, and the Haiya mixed-use complex in Kunming. Locally, he was responsible for the planning and design for a sizeable new residential development in Tai Po, now under construction.
