KAI TAK Design Proposals
21 June 2017

This is a collage of works we’ve studied in Kai Tak Area for different parties in the past several months.

KAI TAK Area is a recent hotspot for urban development in Hong Kong. WCWP has been commissioned by quite a few different developers to study acquisition schemes for land sales. Each design was proposed separately at different times. Yet, we try to think of the bigger picture, triggering dialog between adjacent plots while maximizing the views south to Kowloon Bay.

The Hong Kong Report on the State of Sustainable Built Environment 2017
13 June 2017

The 2017 report and the associated World Sustainable Built Environment Conference showcase how Hong Kong is putting sustainability ideas into action. We are pleased to share that our Shatin Communications and Technology Centre (SCTC) project was selected as one of the case studies on how Hong Kong is responding to the call for a more sustainable environment through innovative new practices and the integrated efforts of all stakeholders.

As part of our practice’s sustainable building initiative, environmentally friendly building practices and technologies are utilized in our Hong Kong and overseas projects, while international green building certification standards such as LEED and BEAM Pro are promoted both in-house and to our clients. Capping a years-long effort, we are grateful to see that SCTC has been recognized as one of the top sustainable projects built in Hong Kong in recent years.

Soft opening of the Baha Mar resort
24 April 2017

We are pleased to announce the soft opening of the Grand Hyatt hotel and Phase 1 of the Baha Mar resort in the Bahamas. WCWP has been hard at work managing the completion and delivery of the US$4.2 billion integrated complex and our team will continue operating in the Bahamas over the next year to ensure the remaining areas, covering the SLS and Rosewood hotels, are successfully handed-over in two further phases.

Comprising three hotels with a combined 2,300 rooms, the resort also boasts the largest casino in the Caribbean, a 20,000sqm convention centre, a PGA-rated 18-hole golf course, and extensive landscaping featuring 11 swimming pools. Supplementing the hotels’ amenities are stand-alone facilities such as luxury shopping and dining areas, a 2,500sqm spa complex, and a racquet club.

The ribbon cutting ceremony held last week was presided over by Governor-General Dame Marguerite Pindling, Prime Minister Perry Christie, and Graeme Davis, President of Chow Tai Fook Enterprises’ Bahamas subsidiary.
